With inconsistent performances in the opening half of the season, we used our Christmas break to regroup and attack 2023 with fresh emphasis. We freed up white space to work with the Basecamp Team over a gruelling winter afternoon in the Wicklow Mountains. Getting back to basics and forced to examine our leadership, communication and work-rate in an alien environment added a refreshing dimension to our in-season prep. The Players and Management took a wealth of learnings from this unique experience.
Ben Mannion
Head Coach, Old Belvedere RFC (AIL)In building elite sprint squads towards international and Olympic cycles we’ve worked Basecamp East specifically on ‘out of season’ events to build nerve and composure in our athletes. Coming from a completely different angle from what my athletes normally expect, we’ve found these events hugely beneficial to our holistic athlete development
Shane McCormack
Olympic Sprints CoachAs head of S&C for Blackrock College I have worked with Basecamp East over a number of years building resilience and leadership in our Junior and Senior Cup squads. We’ve built an intimate trust with the instructors to take us to hell and back when it matters and view these events as crucial to our continued rugby programme success.
